Fellowship Opportunities

There are a number of fellowships available for researchers who would be interested in working as a postdoc in Japan. I would like to share the details here. For these fellowships, you have freedom to define your own research agenda. However, you will need a hosting lab: so don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested.

The first is specific to my institute - RIKEN. It is called the Special Postdoctoral Researcher Program. You can find the details on this website. The deadline is April 2nd.

The second is a fellowship provided by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). You can find information about the application here. While the official deadline is April 28th, the internal deadline on our side is March 31st to register a basic overview. So if you're interested get in touch soon! In addition to the long term program for postdocs, there is a short term program for researchers with other positions.
